Reading Michelle Malkin's response to Amanda's new job as webmistress for John Edwards, I have to ask: do right wingers really want to go there? Really? If it comes down to a game of "whose young staffers have said the craziest things on their blogs", I think they'll wish they hadn't.
This is probably going to be an issue in the next several campaigns. People who are interested enough to work for campaigns are going to be involved in the blogosphere, and anyone who blogs with any regularity for any length of time is going to write some pieces he regrets. He's also going to write a lot of pieces that he doesn't regret, but that the opposition will find shocking. I've been writing for the web for most of a decade now, and someone with access to all of it (and a lot of time to kill) could prove whatever he wanted to prove about me.
Yes, it's a ballsy move for Edwards to put an opinionated, unapologetic, outspoken liberal like Amanda in charge of his blog operation. It's exactly the kind of ballsy that will get the base off its ass to vote for him in the primary. I know that every time he does something that Michelle Malkin crows about, he inches that much closer to my vote.
Well, I wouldn't even go so far as to say there's things I "regret". There are comments I've made that tone-deaf wingnuts don't understand, sure.

I mean, I'm sure I've said things I regret, but I'm sort of shocked at what they're simply not digging up. Mostly they're insinuating I deleted stuff that I lost while trying to do a server change.

Yeah, no correction from Michelle on that yet, either. I'm not holding my breath.
